CELEBRATING ACTS OF KINDNESS DURING THE CHRISTMAS SEASON

For students at St. Elizabeth Ann Seaton, December was a month of getting into the Christmas spirit. Advent liturgies were held, and class initiatives and challenges took place as a mean of getting into the Christmas spirit.

Mme Periera’s class started the month off by learning what the difference is between rude, mean, conflict and bullying. It was a wonderful presentation about social emotional learning with lots of collaboration involved!

In Maggie’s grade 2 class, students took their “Kindness Elves” home for the night and shared with the class the next day all the kind things they did together.

There was a big turnout for the first tech club meet on December 6. The students were getting ready for the Hour of Code, an initiative that took place in Ottawa Carleton District School’s across the city.

To keep with the theme of kindness, students in grade 4 created an Advent calendar with acts of kindness they could take part in everyday leading up to Christmas.

And on December 11 was St. Elizabeth Ann Seaton’s annual Christmas sale. It was an opportunity for the students to go around and purchase gifts for their friends and family.

The week leading up to Christmas was cheerful one as students took part in festive week. It was a great way to spread Christmas cheer leading up to the students’ two-week vacation.

• Monday students wore plaid.

• Tuesday students were decked out in red and green colours.

• Wednesday was crazy hat/hair day.

• Thursday was Christmas sweater day.

• Friday students donated $2.00 to wear PJ’s to school.
